Grassland-dwelling populations of water voles came to light in Glasgow in 2008 and these populations have since been recognized as nationally significant. The Glasgow Water Vole Project is a partnership project between the University of Glasgow, Glasgow City Council, Scottish Natural Heritage, People's Trust for Endangered Species and the Seven Lochs Project which has grown considerably since it started five years ago.

The South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project aims to reinforce the small, isolated and vulnerable population of Golden Eagles in the Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway. This talk will begin with a look at the ecology of one of Scotland’s most iconic species before looking at a background to the project and some historical context. It will also provide an update on translocations in 2018 and 2019 whilst exploring some of the work being undertaken to bring together countryside users to ensure the Golden Eagles wellbeing and successful future in the South of Scotland.
