- Ayrshire Paths is an initiative supported by various organisations including Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire, Scottish Natural Heritage and the three Ayrshire Councils. They have signposted and improved many traditional walks and pathways around Ayrshire and have a continuing programme of development.
- Ayrshire Red Squirrel Group. A group of individuals and organisations concerned about the fate of the Red Squirrel in Ayrshire.
- Birding on Arran. A new site covering birding on Arran with information on where to go, what is around, and a nice photo gallery.
Argyll Bird Club. A nice site covering
birding in neighbouring Argyll. Lots of attractive art work!- Bird atlas 2007-2011. This project aims to map the distribution and relative abundance of all Britain and Ireland's birds during both the winter (November-February) and summer (April-July) seasons.
- The British Ornithologists' Union website includes the British List, press releases and lists of recent decisions and files in circulation.
Butterfly Conservation is the national
organisation dedicated to protecting our wild butterflies, moths and their habitats. The local branch's
site is here.
Birding Pals is a world-wide network of birdwatchers offering to
help visitors find the best birds in the areas. Ideal for planning holiday trips.

Hotline number for reporting sightings is 01292-611994. The regularly updated recorded message
is on 09068-700234. This is run by Ayrshire's very own Angus Murray.- Clyde Birds. John Molloy (a contributor of photos to our Photo Gallery) has a great site giving information on birds in our neighbouring recording area including recent sightings and photos. The site also has a comprehensive set of links to our wildlife-related sites in the Clyde area.

East Ayrshire Woodlands is a partnership initiative supporting
communities and landowners to expand and enhance native and amenity woodlands in Ayrshire.-
The Fatbirder (UK) Birding
Webring is a collection of quality birding web sites that are based in the United Kingdom.
- Galloway Red Kite Trail. This was launched on the 6th of October 2003: a feeding station plus other interpretation points provide an excellent opportunity to view these special birds at close quarters.
Mull Birds. This site is especially for birdwatchers and for those with an interest in the bird life of the Isle of Mull and the surrounding islands of Argyll.
North Ayrshire RSPB Group.
Web site of one of the RSPB groups in Ayrshire including
their (excellent) newsletter, programme and activities.
